Patient Journey: Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation
Age Range: 40-50
Many patients ask the same question during consultation: “Am I too young for a facelift?”
The truth is that facial aging doesn’t follow a calendar. While age is often discussed, what matters most is anatomy. Some people develop jowling, facial volume loss, neck laxity, and changes around the eyes earlier than others, making them excellent candidates for facial rejuvenation long before they reach their 60s.
This patient came to us in her 40s after noticing several changes that no longer reflected how she felt. She was bothered by volume loss beneath her eyes, flattening through her cheeks, loss of lip volume, deepening smile lines, early jowling, brow asymmetry, and heaviness of her upper eyelids.
Like many patients, she had been proactive about maintaining her appearance. Over the years, she underwent Botox, filler, and CO₂ laser treatments with good results. Eventually, however, she found herself needing more frequent treatments while seeing less improvement. The underlying issue was no longer simply volume loss or skin quality. The deeper facial structures had begun to descend, creating changes that non surgical treatments could only partially address.
During her consultation, we carefully evaluated her facial anatomy and discussed both surgical and non surgical options. While additional filler and maintenance treatments were certainly possible, they would not adequately address the tissue descent, skin laxity, and structural changes responsible for many of her concerns.
Together, we developed a comprehensive surgical plan designed to restore youthful contours while maintaining a natural appearance.
Her customized treatment plan included:
• Preservation Deep Plane Facelift
• Extended Deep Plane Necklift
• Full Facial Fat Grafting
• Brow Reset
• Upper blepharoplasty
• Full-face CO₂ laser resurfacing
Each procedure addressed a different component of facial aging. The facelift and necklift repositioned descended facial tissues and restored jawline definition. Fat grafting replenished volume lost through the cheeks, under eyes, lips, and midface. The brow lift and upper blepharoplasty refreshed the upper face and eyes, while laser resurfacing improved skin texture, tone, and overall skin quality.
In the months following surgery, she continued her rejuvenation journey with targeted CO₂ laser treatments for scar refinement and Botox for maintenance.
At six months, her healing continued to progress beautifully. As swelling resolved and scars matured, her facial contours became increasingly refined. Most importantly, she looked like herself, just more refreshed, rested, and vibrant.
Her story is a reminder that facial rejuvenation is not about reaching a certain age. It’s about recognizing when your anatomy is telling you that nonsurgical treatments are no longer addressing the root cause of aging changes and choosing the approach that will provide the most natural and lasting result.
