In a world full of options, why choose the facelift?
As a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, I could have chosen to offer a broad array of procedures. But instead, I’ve narrowed my focus. I’ve dedicated my career—and my craft—to mastering facial rejuvenation, particularly the deep-plane facelift and neck lift. And today, I want to tell you why.
Because when you trust someone with your face, it shouldn’t just be about surgery. It should be about vision, respect, and artistry.
When patients come to me for facial rejuvenation, it’s rarely just about sagging skin or tired eyes. It’s about the disconnect between how they feel on the inside and what they see in the mirror. They’ll say, “I feel young, but I don’t recognize myself anymore.”
That disconnect is powerful. It can impact your confidence, your relationships, even your willingness to show up in the world.
I chose to specialize in facelifts because I believe that no other procedure has the same potential to realign your inner vitality with your outer reflection—and do it in a way that’s subtle, graceful, and deeply personal.
Let me be candid: facelifts are demanding. They require an intimate understanding of facial anatomy, meticulous technique, and a sharp aesthetic eye. No two faces age the same, and no two faces should be treated the same.
That’s why I don’t believe in “cookie-cutter” surgery.
The kind of facelift I perform—the extended deep-plane facelift combined with structural neck sculpting—goes far beyond skin tightening. It involves elevating the deeper muscular layers of the face and neck, reestablishing youthful contours from the inside out.
This technique is not widely practiced. It requires years of training and experience, which I pursued through a fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto, and have refined over the years since. But the reward? Results that look unoperated, natural, and lasting.
Some plastic surgeons divide their attention between body and face. I don’t. I only operate on the face. That’s it. It’s not a side offering—it’s my life’s work.
I do this because the face is different. It’s delicate, expressive, visible. It’s how you greet the world. And if I’m going to earn the trust of patients putting their face—literally—in my hands, I owe it to them to bring unmatched focus, training, and intention to every single detail.
At Raggio MD, we perform only a few carefully selected surgeries per day in our AAAASF-accredited surgical suite. We don’t aim for volume. We aim for excellence. You’ll never feel like just another case on the schedule—because you’re not.
My philosophy is rooted in honesty, restraint, and refinement. I’ll never recommend surgery you don’t need, and I’ll never chase trends. My job isn’t to make you look different—it’s to make you look rested, confident, and like yourself again.
I’m proud of the fact that patients refer their friends, family, even their spouses. I’m honored when they say, “No one else is touching my face but you.” And I’m humbled when I get to walk with someone through the transformation they’ve been thinking about for years—but finally feel ready for.
Because no procedure demands more skill, delivers more natural beauty, or restores more confidence.
Because it’s not about chasing youth—it’s about restoring you.
Because I believe that the best facelift isn’t the one people notice.
It’s the one that makes them say: “You look amazing—what’s your secret?”
If you’re starting to explore facelift surgery, or if you’ve been quietly considering it for years, I invite you to schedule a consultation at Raggio MD in Birmingham. You’ll never be rushed or pressured. We’ll take the time to talk, understand your goals, and craft a surgical plan that honors your face, your story, and your future.
Because you’re not just looking for a facelift—you’re looking for the right surgeon to be a part of your journey.
Let’s get that right, together.
